Wow! Another excellent room by Trip Trap!

We conjured our own ideas based on the illustration and it’s fair to say that we were wrong! Without giving much away, you’d have to be psychic to know what adventure lay ahead.

We started off with a puzzle which we didn’t feel was necessarily fitting/relevant but nevertheless I love a good hunt!

The mode of storytelling is comedic and fitting, done beautifully to make you truly feel like part of the story and gives you a nice moment to pause and collect your thoughts in between bouts of action and adventure.

Now, there is something to consider when booking, and although I would never like to give spoilers, I feel I must mention this as discretely as possible. There is a part within the room where you are asked to split up. As we played as a two, we were told to stay together. Well when we asked at the end what happens to groups, let’s just say we would have been incredibly disappointed had we been the person/group that ‘stayed behind’. By speaking to the GM, it would appear that one group would go on an excellent yet short adventure (one of our favourite parts of the experience) whilst the others stay to complete a puzzle which we found incredibly frustrating. The puzzle ended with us simply looking at the camera saying “is it this? Yes or no?”, repeating for a  series of objects. Now I feel I must add this in here as this is the only element that brings it down from a 5 star room, but also to allow groups to avoid disappointment by being strategic in who they appoint to stay behind.

The rest of the adventure continued with beautiful puzzles and magical environments, enough to appease any enthusiast.

Sincerely, this is another must play room, and with some mild tweaking, this would have been on par with Aunt Hilda’s and Madame Suzette.

The game that keeps on giving, as a team of two the flow of the game was linear but for larger teams it's a multi-linear game. Brilliantly put together and so much to do. Absolutely fantastic.

Mega Raum!

The opening of «The house of uncle Cornelius», the third adventure of the Grand Trip Trap Hotel, was one of our main motivations of travelling to the French part of Switzerland again. Since «Aunt Hilda’s room» still is in our minds of being one of the best rooms ever seen/experienced. Our big question was to find out if the brains and builders of Trip Trap were able to create a comparably good room again….?

Cornelius de la Trappe, Mr Trippolyte’s younger brother and a real globetrotter, welcomed us in his cosy living room. He used to travel around the world and experienced hundreds of adventures about which he would love to tell us. We immediately immerged in his exciting stories and could hardly wait to discover all those diverse scenes of which he was telling us. At a certain point in the game we felt like little kids again, wanting to explore and experience the pure joy of not caring about anything and just doing what we felt like doing.
