Enigma Rooms Wakefield: GRIMM – Up North

We restored 13 happily ever afters which isn't too shoddy for a team of 2! A great room which caters for novices and experts - such a clever design. 

We absolutely loved this game, the main objective can be done in a decent time leaving the 'Happily Ever Afters' to the end, which is where the real competition starts!

A really beautiful room, immersive with an impressive eye for detail, this room is not to be missed. We still don't know how many 'Happily Ever Afters' there are, meaning we'll have to go back to try and get them all!

What a brilliant game! Fantastic set, great hosting as usual from Enigma. Enough to keep you busy the whole time and the perfect amount of signposting for each puzzle. Kieran gave us a push in the right direction exactly when needed without actually giving us the answers! Gutted to have now played all the local games! 

A great escape room with an excellent puzzle variety! The "main" puzzles were very engaging and they did a great job being obvious as to what to do, with much of the challenge being in navigating and completing the puzzle. This meant we never felt stuck for long, as the struggle was in less "what to do" and more "How to accomplish what we want to do". The inclusion of "side puzzles" is a great way to ensure the players feel accomplished in their win, whilst allowing for some trickier, and more conventional, puzzles that fill up the rest of the play time whilst providing a wealth of content. Our host did an excellent job at giving hints just as people began to get frustrated or on the wrong track with puzzles, and as a result the experience was extremely smooth. Overall this was an excellent time, and I'll definitely be checking what else they have to offer!

One of the best rooms we have ever done. 

The amount of effort put into this room was clear. A great variety of puzzles enough to keep the biggest of teams busy with a awesome scaling built into the game. Looks great some nice puzzles I don't think anyone would not enjoy this room. Too much content for the 2 of us but still absolutely loved the room and finished the main story which is all you need to do to achieve success but so much left to do if you can or have a bigger team. 75 minutes of fun I recommend everyone gets to this room.

Grimm Up North is yet another exceptional escape room that impresses from start to finish. The game is overflowing with a diverse array of puzzles, each one distinct and carefully crafted to keep you on your toes. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into the puzzle design, and that attention to detail shines through throughout the entire game.

Our group of five played together, knowing that this was a collection-style game, and we wanted to ensure we had the best chance of collecting everything the game had to offer. Between us, we’ve collectively completed over 600 escape rooms, so we have quite a bit of experience under our belts. Even with all that experience, Grimm Up North still managed to keep all five of us engaged and busy, with each of us having something to do at all times. The game is designed in such a way that it encourages teamwork and communication, which made for an incredibly enjoyable and immersive experience.

I’m always a fan of escape rooms that offer both a main quest and side quests, as it truly makes you feel like you're getting your money’s worth. It adds an extra layer of excitement, as you’re never just working towards one singular goal. Thankfully, Grimm Up North delivers on this front in spades. 

The set design is simply stunning. It strikes the perfect balance between a polished, professional look and a charming, handmade quality that I absolutely adore. It’s evident from the moment you step into the room that the designers and owners have poured a tremendous amount of passion into the creation of this experience. The attention to detail is remarkable, and every corner of the set feels meticulously crafted to pull you deeper into the world of Grimm Up North.

Overall, this is an outstanding game that truly stands out. It offers a perfect blend of challenging puzzles, immersive storytelling, and beautiful design. I wholeheartedly recommend Grimm Up North to anyone looking for a thrilling and memorable escape room experience. Whether you’re a seasoned escape room enthusiast or a newcomer, you’re sure to find something here that will leave you eager for more.

A beautifully designed Great Brothers Grimm themed room full of different puzzles and challenges, the 75 minutes absolutely flew by

An outstanding room, it just kept on giving, so much to do, brilliantly themed puzzles. 100% worth a visit, with great hosting by Kieran. 

We played this room with family as our little christmas get together. Such a brilliantly themed room with lots of clever puzzles to do. Team work is a essential part of this room. I've enjoyed every room at this location 

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Wakefield, there was an escape room that was so gorgeous, so clever and so utterly enjoyable that escape enthusiasts journeyed from all over the kingdom to play it and crown it with 5 golden stars.

Grimm Up North is a puzzler's delight with a superb premise and setting but the real stars are the puzzles. The game structure allows for a main trilogy of quests, then an epilogue that just keeps on going... Throw in some delightful hosts and it's an absolute winner. We would happily have gone straight back into the room to play it again afterwards, which says a lot. It's just brilliant.

Great puzzles and theming. This is one of the best Enigma rooms I have played and well worth playing this room! 

Original excellent room. Thoroughly enjoyed it and was challenging for two experienced escape room lovers. It stands out on its own with many original puzzles and excellent hosting. A must do room!

This was one of the most creative escape rooms I've ever played!! Each room was SO well themed and there was a great range of puzzles that varied in difficulty. I cannot recommend this room enough!!

Excellent room, my wife & I really enjoyed the main quest & thoroughly enjoyed the side quests afterwards too. The set & puzzles were spot on. 

Absolutely amazing experience, from the minute you walk in you are blown away with the theming of the room. The concept is also amazing and we loved every minute of it, we didn’t want it to be over 

Managed to be a volunteer play tester for this room and its already in my top 5 of all time. The set pieces were incredible, the puzzles were brilliant and the hosts (as always) were lovely. Perfect for teams of all sizes with how the puzzles were separated.
